Believing the lie of being "too old"?

“You are too old, you’ve missed your window of opportunity.”
This is one of the greatest lies concerning our age the enemy uses against women to keep us ineffective.
#1 You are too old!
Thinking back over the years I can’t believe how many times I’ve fallen for this. Whether it’s been to learn an instrument, language or join a dance class. From the age of 18 the enemy has been whispering this lie to me and I suspect countless others.
# 2 Its too late!
The truth is that Gods plan and purpose for our lives stands outside of time. He doesn’t change his mind concerning us the older we get. If you think about it who defines what is too old anyway?
# 3 Do you still have a dream that hasn’t gone away despite the passing years?
Perhaps it involves extending his kingdom like starting a ministry, business or NGO. Maybe its writing a book or compiling a song. If the desire is still there then consider that this dream might be God inspired and part of the purpose he has for your life which he is still calling you too! The question is not are you too old but are you willing to finally start being obedient.
I have two beautiful ladies in our church who had a life long desire to learn an instrument and play in a worship team. But like most of us they got busy and started having kids devoting their time to their families and careers. Recently in their mid 40s they rekindled this passion and learnt to play an instrument and now play in the worship team. I can’t express what a blessing their gift has been to our church! And what satisfaction it’s brought to their personal lives and spiritual growth!
How many more women like these are waiting in the wings? God has been calling your name and still is! Will you allow the him to breath life over your dreams?
Ezekiel 37:1
The Valley of Dry Bones ( dead dreams) The hand of the Lord was on me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. 2 He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry. 3 He asked me, “Son of man, ( daughter of the most high God) can these bones live?” I said, “Sovereign Lord, you alone know.”
Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! 5 This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. 6 I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.’”
